Wichita area artists, artisans, and art supporters are invited to join the Arts Council, in collaboration with The City of Wichita Division of Arts and Cultural Services, for our February ARTS MIXR at Exploration Place, from 5-7:00pm on Thursday, February 5. Exploration Place and The Kansas African American Museum have partnered for the fifth year to honor African American leaders in STEM fields during Black History Month.
Each week in February, the image of different African American pioneer in science will be projected on the side of Exploration Place's iconic island building. The 2026 honorees are Harold Miller, Dr. Donald Jackson, Col. George Boyd and Charyl McAfee-Duncan.
Please join us for this kickoff reception. Light refreshments will be served. (Please RSVP at https://www.eventcreate.com/e/bhm so we can plan accordingly!) A brief program begins at 5:30 p.m.
ARTS MIXR is a free and very informal gathering, open to artists and art lovers of all ages and abilities who are interested in learning more about the arts in Wichita. Our goal is to connect creatives throughout our community and spark conversations and collaboration.
