About this Event
Help RUFF celebrate our 30 YEAR anniversary at our public events!!
Roseville Urban Forest Foundation (RUFF) and The City of Roseville Open Space Division are hosting several native tree planting events this spring 2025! We will be working in the preserve near Bickleigh Loop and Pistachio Park in West Roseville throughout the spring. Check our website for future dates.
We invite individual volunteers or groups to join us. It is a family friendly event!! If you have a group larger than 10 volunteers, please contact us at [email protected].
The event begins at 9:00am. Try to come a little early for registration. We start with a demonstration and instructions. There are several staff that will be available to help if there are any questions.
RUFF provides tools, gloves, masks. We have light refreshments and a water cooler available for our volunteers. We suggest bringing your own water bottle, as sometimes it's a little bit of a walk from the water station to where you will be working. We recommend wearing a mask when working with the mulch. We want to prevent breathing in any airborne spores or dust particles. Wear clothing and shoes that are appropriate for being in an open field that might be muddy.
Volunteers are required to fill out waiver forms for both the City of Roseville and RUFF. You can find those forms on our website. We have copies at the event as well.
After planting the young trees volunteers will put in a stake, shelter and mulch each tree with bark.
Mulch is Magic! Mulch benefits your plants by smothering weeds, inviting helpful earthworms to move in, regulating the temperature of the soil, retaining moisture, providing nutrients and preventing
WEATHER CONCERNS: Our priority is to be safe. The City of Roseville will contact RUFF staff if there is a need to cancel an event prior to the event.
If an event is cancelled RUFF staff will be in contact with volunteers. We will have an announcement of the cancellation on our website and on Eventbrite.
We already cancelled a January event due to too much sitting water at the site and in the augured holes, so even if the event day weather is favorable, the planting conditions for the young trees may not be. We apologize ahead of time for any cancellations that might occur.
