The Gesualdo Six reunite with director Bill Barclay following their sold-out performances of Secret Byrd to return to the Cathedral with a new stunning production Death of Gesualdo.Madrigalist Carlo Gesualdo (1566-1613) may be most famous for murdering his wife and her lover in bed, but among composers he is revered for anticipating chromaticism by 200 years.
In this one-night-only performance six dancers enact stunning tableaux vivant, filled with iconography superimposing Gesualdo’s psyche onto his most chilling music, Tenebrae.
