The Tempe of today looks like a modern city, but this suburban veneer hides a town older than Tombstone with its own share of cowboys, saloons and stampedes. Come discover how this frontier college and cow town worked hard to forget much of its very unique and sometimes rough-edged past, as it grew strip malls and subdivisions where once the cattle had roamed. Find out more at the opening of Tempe’s Old West: It’s Not What You Think, Tempe History Museum’s new featured exhibit. Tour the exhibit and join us for light refreshments, music, and the chance to experience Tempe’s remarkable heritage as a frontier farm town. Admission is free.
