Celebrate National Environmental Education Day with a Feathered Friends Hike!Join the owners of Wild Birds Unlimited-Brookfield and Wild Birds Unlimited-Delafield with the Waukesha County Land Conservancy for a special guided hike to celebrate the Feathered Fundraiser! Throughout the month of January, a percentage of the proceeds from the Wild Birds Unlimited stores will be donated to support the protection and care of vital bird habitats, ensuring a brighter future for our feathered friends.
This exciting event will take place on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the beautiful Hartland Marsh Preserve. We'll meet at the Cottonwood Wayside pergola off of Cottonwood Ave in Hartland, Wisconsin.
During the hike, we’ll explore the peaceful beauty of the Hartland Marsh Preserve while learning about the ecological significance of the area. It’s a unique opportunity to discover the distinctive features of this important landscape and gain insight into the birds and wildlife that call it home. The trail is about 2 miles long and features a mowed path and boardwalk with minimal elevation gain. Whether you're an avid hiker or simply looking for a relaxing morning in nature, this hike promises to be both educational and enjoyable.
The event is free and open to all ages. Participants are advised to wear comfortable hiking shoes, dress for the weather, and bring a water bottle. We look forward to celebrating National Environmental Education Day with you and exploring the natural wonders of our local environment together!
