Welcome to FEAST OF THE DEADLY : A Samhain Ceremonial Cabaret The transitional time between Summer and Fall has been a significant portal for cultures worldwide. It's the time when we say good bye to the vibrancy, fertility and warmth of the land, and begin the decent into the darkness. It is the time of preparing for hibernation, of introspection and of honouring the vital role that Death has to play in the never ending cycle of Life and Rebirth. It is also a time for Feasting, Celebrating the Harvest and paying homage to ones we loved and lost, Remember the Ancestors. It is with this inspiration that Imaginal Cabaret has woven a night you will never forget, sure to sooth your soul and stimulate your spirit. Feast of the Deadly is more then a show, it is an experience, an immersive co-creation of magic and celebration.

Land and Cultural Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that we are all guests here, on territories historically and continually cared for by the Lekwungen and Songhees peoples, and woven with the presence and history of the W̱SÁNEĆ, Te’mexw Treaty Association, and the Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla nations. May we all walk softly, and mindfully as we arrive to this ceremonial event in a good way. May we listen deeply to the original ancestors of these lands and waters around what is now called Victoria which has historically been home to vibrant, complex cultures for thousands of years. The Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, among others, have longstanding relationships with these places—relationships expressed through ceremony, language, art, and sustainable stewardship.
Ceremonies here have often been tied to the seasons, the salmon, the camas harvest, and the cedar—all gifts of the land and sea. For instance, the camas root (q̓ʷəɬniʔ in Lekwungen), a traditional staple food, was harvested with care and gratitude, reflecting a deep understanding of reciprocity. First Salmon ceremonies honoured the return of the salmon each year, acknowledging their sacrifice and the need to fish responsibly.
These practices weren’t just events—they were (and are) part of a continuous, living culture rooted in respect, gratitude, and responsibility to all living things.

Church of truth is a fully accessible venue that is all located on one level. It has 3 gender neutral washrooms including one wheelchair accessible washroom located by the front entrance. If you or anyone in your party is using a wheelchair or larger mobility aid, please reach out to Imaginal Cabaret ([email protected]) so we can create space during set up. Likewise if anyone is hard of hearing and needs a translator to enjoy the show please contact us.
