With the 3rd release from her next album - ‘Reproduction’ set to release in 2022, Shilpa Ananth debuts her new single ‘Fear’ - with a Music Video Premiere at Dubai’s first arthouse cinema - Cinema Akil - along with an exclusive performance from her roster of unreleased music and her album Indian Soul (2015). The event will be followed by an open house Q&A with the artist.

Shilpa Ananth:
Shilpa Ananth is an Indian vocalist, songwriter, composer, producer based in Brooklyn, NY. With a unique sound that fuses the dreamy landscapes of South India with Soul, Jazz, and Electronic influences, Shilpa brings together 3 of the oldest Indian languages - Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi - with English, creating art that transcends borders and cultures.
Shilpa has recorded and performed with Grammy award-winning composers, A.R.Rahman, Bobby McFerrin, Bill Whalen, Chandrika Tandon, and Javier Limon's 'Original Quartet'. She is also a featured vocalist on the recently Grammy-nominated album 'ONA' by Thana Alexa.
A proud member of the LA-base artist collective 'The Stardust Kids' created by multi award-winning musician, actor, and activist, Common, she is also a recipient of both the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Women’s Fund for Media, Music, and Theatre 2020, as well as the Music Grantee 2020, for the Café Royal Cultural Foundation, New York.
Shilpa is currently finishing up her second EP of original music titled 'Reproduction', set to release in Summer 2022.
James Kelly:
James Kelly is a DJ, composer, performer, producer, engineer and teacher who is from the United Kingdom. James’s creative work explores the use of the turntable as an instrument. He pioneered the use of a vinyl disc cutting lathe as part of the compositional process in order to create turntable music and has worked in popular and experimental music as well as academia. Spanning genres from dubstep to pop, funk and ambient, James’s projects have received national radio exposure in the United Kingdom. He toured the UK as a DJ and also with Ginger Snaps, Ola Szmidt and Pure Phase. As a composer, his interdisciplinary projects have included scores for the feature film Honeytrap (2014), the contemporary dance film Cynefin (2011) and for a solo sound art exhibition at the Avenue Gallery, University of Northampton, UK (2016).
