Fremont Community Theatre and Director Michael PJ Foos are excited to announce upcoming auditions for our 3rd show in our 2024-2025 season: Silent Sky!SYNOPSIS:
This heartfelt drama tells of Henrietta Leavitt, who, in the early 1900s, worked at Harvard University as a human computer for mapping the stars yet did not receive any scientific credit for her discoveries. This true story explores Henrietta’s romance and family relationships. – PG

SILENT SKY AUDITION PROCESS:
Audition Forms – Candidates will complete the FCT Audition Form. Be prepared to write or attach past experience/skills, roles desired (may choose “Any”), and scheduling conflicts. Here is the audition form. If able, please print and fill out before you come. Audition Form: https://bit.ly/3zizIUk
No vocal singing auditions will be conducted.
Readings – All candidates will congregate in the open auditorium. Directors will call candidates to the stage to read specific readings. Directors will look for expression and volume.
Casting Announcements – Within a couple of days, directors will contact all by phone, text, or email with the results and further information about read-throughs, etc.

Annie Jump Cannon—Female, Supporting
Williamina Fleming—Female, Supporting*
Margaret Leavitt—Female, Supporting**
*Williamina has a Scottish accent, but the director is willing to work with the best non-accent candidate.
**Margaret sings a short hymn and mimics/plays piano.

Audition Tips:
Research – Research the show to understand the plot, characters, and cast requirements.
Be Prepared – Rehearse and memorize music. Warm up voice prior to auditions. Be familiar with show music. You may be asked to sing excerpts.
Introduce Yourself & Your Song – As you take center stage for your singing audition, state your name and title of your song.
Dress Nice but Comfortable – You may be asked to dance or move. Avoid high heels, flip flops, etc.
Deep Breath & Smile – Even seasoned actors are nervous. Mistakes happen. Don’t apologize. Just go on and give the next part your all. Smile and look like you are enjoying yourself.
Reading – Oral reading is rarely flawless. Focus on character and inflection. If you stumble over words, try to go on without stopping or apologizing.
