This inaugural event sparks the beginning of the Forest City Film Festival celebrating stars from Southwestern Ontario with legendary contributions to the global entertainment industry.
Receiving this award for the very first time is Canadian icon Victor Garber. Nominated for three Gemini Awards, four Tony Awards, six Primetime Emmy Awards, and three Screen Actors Guild awards, Victor is no stranger to accolades. He has been in more than 43 films, over a hundred television series, and 30 Broadway and off-Broadway shows. Winner of the Order of Canada in 2022 and the Theatre World John Willis Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2018, we are proud to have the honor of adding another Lifetime Achievement Award to Victor’s outstanding resume.
Join us in celebrating Victor’s work through three screenings of his most notable films. On October 27th, we will be screening the theatre lover’s favourite: Godspell (1973). Adapted from the musical Godspell (1972), this film was Victor’s breakthrough role on the big screen and introduced the film world to his incredible talent. Don’t miss out the chance to talk to Victor himself after the screening, and ask all about his experience on stage and screen.
