Greetings Faithful but beleaguered & concerned FCE members & member churches...some of whom may well have been tempted to or actually have resigned rather than recognize some claiming to be in supreme charge.As you are well aware the FCE has since 2004 come under the leadership of some men who have rejected Section 4 of our Declaration of Principles, in their public statements & publications.
Whereas this founding document binds us unalterablely to the 39 Articles of the Anglican church founded by Archbishop Cranmer & his brave fellow clergy. Further these errant bishops regard themselves as in some kind of mystical "Apostolic succession" which they suppose in effect exalts them to a position rendering them unanswerable to the body of the church. This too is unconstitutional according to our 1983 Constitution. Our supreme authority is Convocation governed by & accountable to one another solely as can be shown from scripture alone - not scripture plus church tradition.
The FCE Evangelical Connexion group have never recognized these men and have sought to meet with them to dissuade them from their error, sadly to no avail.
We now wish to call the remaining FCE faithful members & churches' delegates to a special Convocation at which these men who have declared themselves no longer able to adhere to our unalterable founding principles as set forth in our 1983 Constitution (hence Holy Scripture) to step aside.
This notice is to invite all who believe this course of action is now demanded of us to enable us to continue as the FCE as originally founded by our founding fathers to join us for a consultation on Google Meet @ 10:00am on Wed 31st July.
Please note this consultation is open only to genuine members of the FCE, meaning those who submitted themselves to the original 1983 constitution when we last met fully under it in 2003 under the chairmanship of our then Primus, Rt Rev Arthur Bentley-Taylor.
Any recognizing another Constitution, or present FCE leadership doing so, whereby they deny our founding Principles, will not be able to participate.
Please share this invitation as widely as is in accord with the spirit in which it is sent out & standby for the on line link to be advised nearer the time.
We hope & pray the Lord will give us the unity & courage to wrest our beloved denomination back to it's faithful trust in Christ and Him alone for salvation.
