Free event; Pre-registration required at https://www.cspm.org/events/lecture-fcc-in-the-city/. Three years after the founding of Colorado Springs, a February 1874 article in the “Colorado Springs Weekly Gazette” noted, “There is talk of a Congregational Church being built in the upper part of town.” For the next 150 years, the First Congregational Church “grew up” alongside Colorado College and the City of Colorado Springs – rooted in both place and purpose. This program examines what you can learn about a community and a congregation when you examine them side by side.
This *free lecture will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024 in the historic Division I courtroom at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, 215 South Tejon Street.
