We are delighted to announce that the first team to visit Broadhurst Park for the 2021/22 pre-season campaign will be our good friends and fellow fan-owned club, Bury AFC on Saturday 3rd July. Tickets are now available to buy for the 'Football and Fans United' friendly.This is a special moment for both clubs as we have developed especially close ties with Bury since their well documented troubles, and inspiring rebirth from the ashes of their former guise. Furthermore, FC United's record goalscorer Tom Greaves will be returning to Broadhurst Park with the aim of adding to his goal tally, but this time in the colours of the Shakers.
Looking forward to the game, Greaves said: "Returning to the ground that holds so many great memories for me, and to play in front of the FC United fans again is something I’m delighted to be able to do, though what I'm looking forward to most is meeting up with the many friends I made during my time - see you all there!"
Tom's successor as First Team Manager, Neil Reynolds also commented: “This is a mouthwatering fixture that will hopefully see the return of all fans. I would encourage everyone to buy their tickets early as I am sure this will be a sell-out. I, for one, cannot wait and I’m now counting down the days until Saturday 3rd July. Broadhurst Park will be rocking once again!”
