Join the Feminist Bird Club Denver & Front Range Chapter for our July 2024 bird outing at McKay Lake! We will meet on Saturday, July 20th from 6-8pm at the McKay Lake parking lot located at 2000 W 144th Ave, Broomfield, CO 80023.
McKay Lake Trail is a popular birding spot with gorgeous mountain views. We will take a leisurely turn around the1.7 mile loop.
The meet-up location includes free parking and restrooms. The terrain is mostly flat with gravel and a wooden boardwalk. If parking lot fills up, please use the lot off of Zuni and meet up at the North lot.
There are no bus lines in this area. Zuni St and other streets in the area near the lake have deicated bike lanes. If you need help getting to this location, please DM us on Instagram or reach out to others on the chapter's WhatsApp.
July weather is variable, so please wear layers and bring snacks, water, and sunscreen in addition to your birding gear.
All are welcome on this outing! No birding experience is needed! We can provide a loaner set of binoculars.
* We want to make sure we continue to take care of one another. Following current health guidelines, masks are optional on this walk. We ask that you please not bring your pets to this outing. Service animals are always welcome.
