This is a Peachtree State Classic Cycling event, organized by SouthSide Cycling Club member Keith Larson. I will schedule lead this ride "about every weekend" throughout the winter and spring season, posting the next ride when the weather forecast is favorable (about 45 degrees+).
This week's forecast is for mostly cloudy skies and 55+ degrees.
The ride follows the old "Bicycles Unlimited" mid-county route on smooth roads - many repaved this last spring.
Come on out and join others for a relaxed pace (13-15mph) ride of the central Fayette County 22 mile loop this Saturday afternoon. Some may call it a "recovery ride" - others Zone 1-2. Whatever works for you.
All bike types are welcome. Have an old steel bike? Have a new steel bike? Bring them all. We are embracing all things steel, from friction shifters to "brifters". Carbon is great, and is the light weight material of choice, but steel frames give you a silky and smooth ride that can last 100 years with care. We are embracing not only the classic frame material, but the classic tenets of cycling as well, including frame pumps, steel toe clips, shoe cleats, wool jersey and shorts.
Meet up at in front of the old K-Mart building, 400 Crosstown RD in Peachtree City, departing at 2pm.
