The Des Moines Poetry Festival, which ran for 15 years, featured a Favorite Poem reading, and Poetry Palooza wants to bring this back to show the vitality of our community as expressed through the arts. We also want to celebrate Des Moines’ rich diversity. In partnership with CultureALL and the Des Moines Art Center, we are proud to present Favorite Poem Project.To reinforce the way poetry can provide meaning in our lives, community leaders will share their favorite poems. Hearing poetry read aloud is a pleasure, one that speaks to us as humans.
Emceed by Mike Pace, the leaders highlighted in this event will include Trevy Augustin, Kelly Baum, Lenny Bell, Connie Boesen, Tej Dhawan, Richard Deming, Deidre DeJear, Seso Marentes, Zach Machem, Michael Morain, and Dawn Oropeza.
