In Mary Norvell’s exciting new workshop, students will learn a simple technique for creating batik-like fabric art. Instead of wax, washable glue is used as the resist to paint and process a beautiful work of art! You can wear your final piece as a scarf or use it in a centerpiece, in a pillow, as a wall hanging, etc.The class day will be spent learning to apply the glue resist, painting the design and processing the finished artwork. A pallet of colors will be provided, but participants may also bring their own favorite acrylic colors. Students should bring a variety of brushes (see Supply List) for acrylic paint.
Mary will provide an image template she created of an expressive whimsical portrait which can easily be personalized. Students registered for the course should pick up their template and fabric early so they can draw the pattern on the fabric before the start of class.
