This class aims to demonstrate and teach the techniques required to decorate a floral fault line cake design.
Students will be given instructions and explanations of the cake decorating process, as well as basic level of assistance. This class is designed to arm students with a fundamental grasp of the skills required to finish the cake to a reasonable level, and then extend these skills through further practice. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and clarify processes that are new at beginner level and take away enough knowledge and practice to continue their learning.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
The process of cake layering
Buttercream application including crumb coat and final coat.
The process of colouring buttercream, including the differences in brands of food colour.
Combing different colours of piping into one piping bag to create an ombre effect.
Understanding the different kinds of piping tips and the ways they are used.
Learning piping techniques.
Implementing structure in a cake, along with utilising a polystyrene cake dummy.
Creating the “Fault Line” look using buttercream.
Creating a finished look using sprinkles and glitter!!
