THE URBAN HYMNSIt’s hard to fathom that’s it’s been 25 years since the release of one of the most loved and revered albums to come out of the UK music scene in the 90’s.
This passionate ensemble of musicians some of which originate from the band’s native northern England combine stage experience with a savvy nod to British music 90s nostalgia.
The Urban Hymns deliver the Verve’s signature guitar drones and tones grooving drum and bass backbone and the vocal-centric melodic gems to recreate the lamenting ballads hypnotic grooves through to the anthemic timeless bangers from what now can be rightfully claimed a classic album.
THE RUBBER FACTORY
In salute to The Black Keys, vocalist/guitarist Patrick Steinbacher and drummer Geoff Rowe have evolved an offshoot of their two-piece band and called it Rubber Factory. Named after The Black Keys’ third album, the pair focus on the earlier LPs when Auerbach and Carney toured and recorded strictly as a duo.
“We've always liked the idea of just drums, guitar and vocals from the first few albums,” Rowe says.
Black Keys fans can expect to hear songs such as 10am Automatic, Have Love will Travel, Gotta Getaway, Sister, Stack Shot Billy, Little Black Submarines, Gold On The Ceiling and Lonely Boy.
