The Country Duo, Kansas City's Kasey Rausch and Marco Pascolini, plays a free show at Stockyards Brewing Company in the historic West Bottoms of KCMO. All ages.Armed with acoustic and baritone guitars, a pedal steel, and a passion for good ol' country music, you'll hear The Country Duo play Rausch's original tunes as well as the classics from Patsy to Merle, Gram to Emmylou. Formed in 2015, the duo has played everywhere from The Station Inn in Nashville, TN, to the Mid-Coast Takeover in Austin, TX. Their debut EP was recorded live by invitation at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, TN and was filmed for the Sun Studio Sessions television show that aired across the US and Canada on PBS stations. No Depression called Rausch's vocals "tender and intuitive" and claimed Pascolini's guitar playing "raises the stakes for everybody."

Located in the Stockyards District of Kansas City, Missouri, Stockyards Brewing Co. is a craft brewery that doesn’t dwell on being a craft brewery. Why not? Because we opened Stockyards for a simple purpose: to make good, unpretentious beer for hardworking people, reinvigorating a historic spot seeped in our city’s character.
Before the Stockyards District was cool, it was … actually cooler. Kansas City became what it is in large part because of the West Bottoms. And the West Bottoms became what it was because of the Stockyards District. Being a railroad hub in the 1860s, the stockyards grew at a breakneck pace. And as the area developed around the thriving Stockyards District—it became home to more than just an industrial hub, it became a cultural melting pot.
Then, in 1949 on the first floor of the Livestock Exchange building, the original Golden Ox restaurant was opened. Being the premier steakhouse in Kansas City, you could find everyone from ranching cowboys to U.S. presidential candidates dining there. But after several fires and floods, the Stockyards District fell into disrepair.
Not wanting the iconic Kansas City landmark to be lost for good, Stockyards Brewing Co. took over the space in the summer of 2015 in an effort to restore the rich history and nostalgia of the space. From the mahogany-paneled walls to the stained-glass drop ceiling over the bar, much of its original character and decor lives on in what is now our bar, taproom and event space.
