Fat Tuesday is the historic feast-before-the-fast, a day the global Church has used for centuries to celebrate God’s goodness right before entering the reflective season of Lent. It’s a moment to breathe deep, laugh loud, enjoy community, and prepare our hearts for the weeks ahead where we focus on repentance, renewal, and the hope of Easter. At Hope Commons, we take that ancient tradition and give it our own flavor. Every year we host an Open Mic Night where anyone can step up and share music, poetry, comedy, stories, whatever gift God’s tucked into you. We’ll have donuts, good coffee, and all the camaraderie that makes this church feel like family. It’s a night to come together, celebrate joyfully, and enter Lent not with heaviness, but with hearts warmed by laughter, creativity, and community.
