Come for the first half-hour to workshop some ideas from Peter & Lauren's workshop the weekend before (https://www.facebook.com/share/1J4UUMP7xB/). Then stay for the social dance to DJ'd music! No partner necessary, and all levels welcome! We highly suggest bringing water though :)

FAQs:
Q: What counts as fast?
A: Songs will consistently be above 160-170 bpm (e.g., Honeysuckle Rose) and may frequently exceed 200 bpm (e.g., Air Mail Special)
Q: Is the event free?
A: We are only charging to cover the cost of the room, so we have a sliding scale of $0-10, with periodic events 100% free! Your donations are greatly appreciated.
Q: Can we request songs?
A: Depending on the DJ at the time, we are open to incorporating different songs to practice to, but we will play mostly swing jazz from the 1920s-1950s era for the social dance.
Q: Are entry fees tax exempt?
A: No, we are not a non-profit/we have not filed for tax exempt status.
Q: Are there risks to fast dancing?
A: As with any physical activity, there are risks for accidental injury. Please be mindful of your own physical limits and needs. And be aware of your physical surroundings during the social dance. VMAC is not liable for any injury incurred on their premises.
