Join Petra Slinkard, Director of Curatorial Affairs at the Peabody Essex Museum in conversation with designer and artist Charlotte Neuville. Charlotte Neuville, Inc. launched to retailers including Barneys, Neiman Marcus, and Harrods of London in 1985. In 1988, Neuville won the first Young Designer Award representing a new wave of talent including Marc Jacobs, Rebecca Moses, and Isaac Mizrahi. In 1996, she was recruited to transform the retail chain, Lerner New York, into what ultimately became New York and Company before joining The Gap as Executive Vice President of Design. She was inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 1986. Petra Slinkard joined PEM in 2018, and fosters the growth and inclusive spirit of the museum’s celebrated fashion initiative to develop a vibrant array of exhibitions.
