Join us for the Dallas premiere of Fashion with a Heritage, a moving and visually rich documentary celebrating the 100-year history of the Swiss fashion house AKRIS. Presented by The Bolton Arts Foundation, this event marks our fourth annual screening of rare fashion documentaries in support of the Texas Fashion Collection at the University of North Texas.

This year’s program is produced in partnership with Dallas College and proudly sponsored by the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum, Patron Magazine, and the Dallas International Film Festival.

🎞️ About the Film:

A story of vision, family, and enduring style.

In Fashion with a Heritage, Swiss fashion house AKRIS opens its archive and atelier in celebration of its centennial. Directed by Michele Fally, the documentary offers an intimate look at the Kriemler family legacy—beginning with Alice Kriemler-Schoch, who founded the label in 1922, and continuing through the modern creative direction of her grandson, Albert Kriemler.

This powerful film showcases AKRIS' unmistakable design ethos: architectural elegance, high-tech textiles, and minimalism with soul. Through breathtaking visuals, behind-the-scenes access, and personal reflections, Fashion with a Heritage captures the heart of a family-run maison that has become Switzerland’s most internationally renowned fashion brand.

AKRIS has dressed global figures such as Angelina Jolie, Charlene of Monaco, Alicia Keys, and Condoleezza Rice, and is widely admired for its collaborations with visual artists and architects. The film presents the house not only as a symbol of fashion, but as a living reflection of heritage and innovation.
