A series of five talks delivered by costume specialist Sharn Matthews and senior shoe curator Rebecca Shawcross exploring what Victorian women wore with examples from the clothing and shoe collections at Northampton Museum and Art Gallery.

Bustles, square necklines, frills and ruffles, court shoes

Princess line corsets, large bustles, angular shapes, carriage boots, pattens

Bell-shaped skirts, shirtwaists, the new woman, Cromwell shoes
