Note: Participants must attend at least 80% of classes.
The Richard Hunt Studio Center is excited to launch its first multi-week program for Benton Harbor and St. Joseph teens!
"Fashion as Sculpture" is an after-school program that offers hands-on training in fashion design, drawing inspiration from the sculptural legacy of artist Richard Hunt. Instructors Vaughn Sims, Oalliyah Hornes, and Louann Swanagan will teach basic sewing skills and guide students in creatively modifying and enhancing upcycled materials from MOSAIC Thrift.
Special guests from local businesses will also provide additional expertise throughout the semester. By the end of the program, each participant will complete at least one wearable artwork to be featured in a final fashion show!
You'll be able to complete registration forms on-site, though we highly recommend pre-registering online to secure your spot. Spaces are limited!
