You are invited to my opening event of my one-off art exhibition of the year. At the amazing BBC Wildlife Studios near Finzels Reach - Address: Bridgewater House, Counterslip, Bristol, BS1 6BXCome to see my 10 Most Endangered Animals which I have painted over the course of this year, to raise awareness for WWF UK.
It’s been a thoroughly enjoyable but hugely challenging and emotional personal project. To give justice to these absolutely stunning and rare creatures which we are so close to losing forever. But I hope not!
‘As our modern society gets more resource-intensive, natural spaces are shrinking and wildlife numbers are declining. WWF’s 2022 Living Planet Report shows global wildlife populations have plummeted by 69% on average since 1970. While there have been amazing and inspirational wildlife successes and stories in the past, many animals are still endangered mostly due to unsustainable human-led activities. Currently, on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) red list, more than 41,000 species have been assessed to be under threat of extinction.’ WWF.
And so that’s why instead of feeling utterly helpless about this sad and stark reality, I am painting 10 of the world’s most endangered animals in the wild. In the hope that we can learn about them, revel in their unwavering and unique beauty and raise funds for WWF.
10% of profits will go to WWF. Prints will also be available on the day. And a complimentary glass of wine or soft drink.
I hope to have your support and see you there then. 🙏 Please RSVP.
