designers who share our interest in revaluing British wool.
About this Event
The aim of this meetup is to create connections and collaborations that can help farmers diversify into fibre/fashion products and enable designers to work with regional resources.
Following the success of our Groundswell workshops, this is the first in a series of on-line and in-person events taking place during autumn 2024 as part of our Future Fashion Landscapes project, a collaboration between SW and SE England Fibresheds and Centre for Sustainable Fashion, University Arts London.
Working with designers, farmers and students, we are also developing design and product prototypes that can showcase the unique characteristics and design possibilities of British wool.
The meetup conversations will draw on the beautifully illustrated Farming Fashion: Wool guide, launched by the SW and SE England Fibresheds earlier this year. The guide can be purchased online here https://southwestenglandfibreshed.co.uk/farming-fashion-wool/ at printing cost if you use the discount code FFATCOST at checkout.
The evening will be co-hosted by Emma Hague, Director of SWE Fibreshed; Deborah Barker, Director of SEE Fibreshed and Dr Mila Burcikova from Centre for Sustainable Fashion.
Drinks and small refreshments will be provided.
The Future Fashion Landscapes project is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC.)
