Our Summer Music Evenings, will be held weekly from May 29th- October 4th, every Wednesday and some Friday evenings, from 4:30 - 8:30pm, music is from 5:30-7:45. These evenings, will feature an amazing local band and food truck, while all animals and regular Farmfest activities will be open, for an unforgettable night out on the farm! On Friday September 6th, The Riverside will be playing for Sunflower Farm stage! The Riverside originated in Southern California where founding member, Jacob Jeanson (songwriter & guitar), was attending Westmont College in 2012. In his senior year, the band formed in hopes of winning Santa Barbara’s battle of the bands. As an energetic and engaging folk band with foot-stomping musical companions, the group was able to win the competition and release their first album with the winnings.
In the following years, Jake would go on to grow in tasteful and intentional songwriting; a nostalgic yet refreshing charm that leads listeners across a grand frontier of warm and beautiful scenery. In the process, he met his now long-time best friends and bandmates Kristen Posey (KP) and Chase Fierro, whose talent and charm make The Riverside what it is today.
The trio swiftly began touring throughout theaters, venues, and festivals across the United States, but found a home playing intimate house shows in backyards and living rooms. Frequently collaborating with additional musical friends while touring, the group aims to create a magical and organic vibe regardless of the location or the night’s lineup of instruments and voices. The atmosphere the group creates is undeniably compelling, with the band often singing and playing around a single old fashioned microphone, seamlessly blending the musical composition of their harmonies and instruments. Since 2012, The Riverside has released 8 homegrown records and multiple EPs, with more songs and albums in the works.
Baandar Syrian will be here to purchase dinner and Palo Coffee & Bar will be on site, serving up non-alcoholic beverages and snow-cones. Bring your chairs, blankets and family for a summer eve listening to your favorite local bands at Sunflower!
