About this Event

Join us for our second annual spring Farm Volunteer Day and help us get ready for another busy season! This is a family-friendly event with all ages & abilities welcome! We will have a variety of tasks from simple farm clean up to organizing hand tools & gear to small building projects. Participants last year had so much fun being out on the farm for the day & it left such a huge positive impact on our day-to-day work on the farm.

Some frequently asked questions:

Who can attend? Anyone! All ages & abilities are welcome.
Is it a family friendly event? You bet!
What can we expect? Groups will be divided up to work together on clean up projects outside, organizing hand tools & gear, and small building projects. A hot lunch is provided. Washrooms & drinking water are on site.
What time does it run? We start at 9am, break for lunch at noon & then get back to it until 3pm. If you can only come for part of the day, we understand. Just let us know if you plan to be there for lunch.
Can we meet the animals? Yes! We do a livestock tour at the end of the day. Plus you'll see them around as you work.
I can't lift heavy things, can I still be helpful? Of course! Every pair of hands can make a difference. There will be tasks & projects for all ages & abilities. Most don't require a lot of strength.
I'm a club leader, could I bring a group? We would love that! Send us an email to help facilitate.
Can we bring our family dog along? Sorry. The farm is not a good place for your pets. Please leave them at home.

About Your Hosts:

Sarah & Marcus Riedner are first generation farmers. They purchased the farm in 2013, and seven years ago began the task of changing the farm over from commercial grain to pasture & livestock. Pastured laying hens, free-range ducks, grass-fed steers, and heritage breed KuneKune pigs now call the farm home. They custom graze cattle each year from June to October. The Riedner family love to share their story and their farm with visitors, understanding the desire to be more connected to your food & more conscious of where it comes from.
