About this Event
The purpose of these events is part educational, part inspirational. They aim to provide knowledge and more understanding of how our food purchase choices can affect us. We will have the chance to eat together (Always the best way with food - the proof is in the eating!)
We will achieve this by having a range of three evening talks by three great suppliers from Florence Road Farmers' Market.
The first will be focused on Great British cheese and will be given by Lucie Inns - a self-declared cheesologist.
In her own words:
"The idea for Cheesology came to me when I decided that I wanted to start a small business that would combine high-quality natural ingredients and British craftsmanship.
I love cheese despite being brought up on Dairy lea ( I am a child of the 70’s after all). I sent a friend a box of artisan cheese and discovered the fantastic range of handmade cheese being made in the British Isles. I was really surprised at how different this cheese was to the shrink-wrapped, factory-made supermarket stuff.
From then on, I knew that my business would be cheese-based. I sell a range of handmade cheeses at local Farmers Markets – Florence Road in Brighton, Steyning Farmers Market and Hassocks Village Community Market as well as food festivals and other events.
In developing this business, I have discovered some truly wonderful cheeses and amazing cheese makers and continue to do so. I feel passionate about supporting small farms and suppliers, particularly local ones and I want to share my enthusiasm and the sheer enjoyment of eating great cheese with my customers.
Cheesology is an extension of me.

Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start. The evening will finish at around 8.30pm.
The Location is One Church Florence Road, on the corner of Florence Road and Southdown Avenue.
Wine and beer will be available for you to purchase on the night, or bring your own if you’d like.
