About this Event
To promote public health amongst NYC's older adult populations, we are offering in-person, free bilingual (English/Spanish) training on-site at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House! Join us for an afternoon of classroom discussion, goal setting and hands-on culinary training with the Teaching Kitchen team.
Some of our focus support areas include increasing scratch cooking on-site, incorporating more fruits, vegetables and diverse grains into your dishes, introducing culturally significant meals to your menu and sourcing locally where possible, all without raising costs.
You will receive access to our comprehensive online e-learning program, copies of our Farm-to-Institution Cookbook, aprons and hats, year-long on-demand support from our Teaching Kitchen chefs, invitations to all forthcoming workshops and a tight-knit community of institutions working to improve their meal programs one ingredient at a time!
Who should attend? Older adult center program directors, food service directors, chefs, cooks, kitchen managers, etc. This training is for anybody involved with food service at older adult centers in NYC.
