Farm Friends At Thorncroft is a relationship-based learning opportunity where caregivers and their children can explore developmentally appropriate activities on and around the farm. For six Fridays in the fall, our one-hour class invites friends ages three to five years old and their adults to the Farm to learn about the barn, horses, and surrounding nature. Farm Friends does not include riding.Session Dates: October 10, 17, 24, 31, November 7, 14, 2025
Day and Time: Friday, 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Registration Deadline: October 6, 2025
Six-Week Course Fee: $325.00 per child, ages three to five years old. Adults/caregivers are free.
Course Objectives
Introduce young friends and their caregivers to environments and activities that promote the growth and development of healthy nervous systems.
Activities assist in:
– Meaningful movement to develop fine and gross motor skills, vestibular senses, and proprioception
– Exposure to novel tactile experiences
– Cognitive development for skills such as object, color, and shape identification and concepts of large versus small
– Emotion recognition, empathy, and relationship development
Accessibility
Our classrooms are indoor and outdoor based. All modalities of communication are welcome.
The Environment
Thorncroft is located on a 70-acre Farm and home to over 30 horses.
Sensory
Thorncroft welcomes the sounds, sights, and smells of an active working Farm. We welcome sensory supports and information on how to create the preferred environment.
Enrollment: Enrollment is limited to one child per adult. Class size limited to six children. Please note this is not a drop-off class, and the child’s adult is expected to stay. We are unable to provide 1:1 support.
