This workshop is a 2-hour event focused on creative and practical ways to repurpose agricultural and industrial byproducts—ranging from manure and food waste to hemp and other materials—for more sustainable production systems.This event will start with a series of lightning-style presentations—6 to 7 short talks (around 6–8 minutes each)—followed by small group discussions. In this format, each speaker would lead a group conversation, giving attendees the chance to dive deeper into the topics they’re most interested in.
Topics will include:
• Household food waste to on-farm compost
• Biochar production
• On-farm waste to compost and mulch
• Hemp by-products to mushroom substrate
• Manure to field input
• Whey for animal feed and on-farm nitrogen
• Creative collection of waste for on-farm composting
