At Farm & Forest School, homeschoolers can practice problem solving, communication, critical thinking, and compassion through hands-on, play-based outdoor learning. Farm & Forest School is open to any child, ages 5-13, who is curious, independent, and excited to be outside all day. Each 6-week term (pick Tuesdays or Fridays) of Farm & Forest School will follow seasonal themes. Sessions are conducted primarily outdoors. Rain and snow don’t disrupt our day since most of our activities can take place no matter the weather. Some special activities are even reserved just for rainy/snowy days, so we get excited for precipitation! Indoor space is available in case of severe storms and a wood-fired warming tent is used in the winter.
Term 2: Roots & Rest
As the days grow shorter, we slow down and dig deep—just like nature. Kids explore seasonal changes through late harvests, nature-based crafts, and preparing the land for winter. We tune into natural rhythms with quiet forest walks, nature journaling, storytelling, and cozy homestead crafts. This reflective term balances outdoor adventure with a sense of calm and connection to the earth’s winding-down energy.
