Bulgarian pianist Lily Petrova was born in Inverness and has performed in venues across the UK including Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, St Martin’s in the Field, St James Piccadilly and Royal Overseas League. Her playing has garnered several awards including 3rd prize at the Pietro Argento Competition in Italy. Lily started playing the piano when she was 5, and has studied with Tatiana Sarkissova both at the Purcell School and the Royal Academy of musicShe is a founder of the Muse and Fashion Collective- a collective created with the aim of bridging the gap between classical music and the different art forms. – and also had a key role in the founding of the Forgotten Melodies Society, performing at the opening concert at the Razumovsky Trust featuring the music of Nikolai Medtner.
Her programme will include Bartok Out of Doors Suite op.14, a marvellous evocation Hungarian country life, extracts from Prokofiev’s charming Romeo and Juliet ballet music and her own exciting transcription of the Farandole from Bizet’s L’Arlesiienne Suite No. 2
