After more than 50 years of bringing the 1800s logging era to life, it’s time to say a fond farewell to one of our most iconic exhibits.Join us on Monday, January 20 at 5:30 PM for a special closing event as we retire the J. C. Ryan Forest History Room.
Relive the lumberjack era one last time:
• Explore the artifact-dense logging camp displays.
• See the striking photography of William Roleff & Dale Lyons’ artwork.
• Visit the "Sky Pilot's Folding Organ" and the tribute to J. C. "Buzz" Ryan.
Hear from Curator Terry Johnson and designer Gary Lundstrom as they share the history of the exhibit and what made it so special.
The Next Chapter: We are thrilled to announce that this space will be transformed into an expanded and refreshed Lake Superior Ojibwe Gallery! While this room changes, our logging heritage will live on and select artifacts will be moving to our second-floor Heritage Hall.
Come celebrate our past as we make way for the future! 🏛️✨
