In celebration of their tenth anniversary, Orkney-born Quartet, FARA, embark, during 2025, upon several whistle-stop Tours of the U.K., returning to some of their favourite venues and towns from a decade of touring.Acoustic Music at Montrose Playhouse is delighted that we have been included in the September leg of the tour, alongside such prestigious venues as the Liverpool Philarmonic Hall, the Queens Hall in Edinburgh, and the Eden Court Theatre in Inverness.
Presenting an evening from their three critically acclaimed Albums, FARA’s fiery fiddles, foot-stomping piano and enchanting three-part vocal harmony will take you on a joyful journey through their decade, performing at the forefront of the Scottish Music scene.
Fusing the talents of three fine Orcadian fiddlers and vocalists – Jeana Leslie, Catriona Price and Kristan Harvey- alongside stand-out Highland pianist, and newest member, Rory Matheson, FARA have been Torch bearers for Scottish music, since taking the 2014 Orkney Folk Festival by storm. Their unique mix of spell-binding vocals, intricately woven fiddle harmonies and energetic closers has solld out festivals across Europe, Australia and North America, as well as a recent tour of China.
