About this Event
Please note this is a women's and NB folk event only. We ask you respect this space.
Join our community and spend the afternoon learning the fundamentals of world-building. Whether you're creating a world for writing, RPG campaigns, or just because you fancy it; we'll take you through the pillars of what makes a world feel real and key strategies that can help you complete your project.
Drinks and snacks available for purchase at the venue.
How it works:
Bring your notepad, laptop, or other note-taking material. We do the rest!
We'll cover the key pillars needed to build a thriving fantasy world, from belief-systems and politics, to geography and fantasy races.
You'll have prompts and guidance throughout, and plenty of time for you to work your own magic!
The workshop is designed to start building a world from scratch, but if you want to bring your started project and develop it further with us, feel welcome!
About your Workshop Lead:
Arantza Asali has written extensively about the modern fantasy genre and medieval folklore. Using her background in literature and education, and the life-long experience of a true fantasy nerd, she has led a number of writing and other creative workshops about fantasy world-building, character development, and even map-making.
The Girlhood Guild is a social collective based in Scotland, dedicated to establishing a network of women and non-binary folk who support, learn from, and enjoy each other's company, re-centring girlhood in their lives.
