Step into a world of enchantment as the Northwest Symphony Orchestra brings magic, mystery, and adventure to life in its upcoming pops concert, Fantastic and Magical Pops. On Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 3:00 PM, audiences will be transported to realms both fantastical and awe-inspiring through a program of beloved orchestral showpieces and iconic film scores.
The concert opens with Mussorgsky’s thrilling Night on Bald Mountain and Weber’s dramatic Overture to Der Freischütz, setting the stage with darkly powerful sounds. From there, listeners will journey into cinematic worlds with music from The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and How to Train Your Dragon, each brimming with sweeping themes and heroic energy.
The program continues with Grieg’s mischievous In the Hall of the Mountain King and Saint-Saëns’ haunting Danse Macabre, both guaranteed to stir the imagination. Broadway fans will delight in highlights from Wicked, while film lovers will revel in selections from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Disney’s Frozen, bringing familiar melodies to life with symphonic grandeur.
The evening culminates with Stravinsky’s Berceuse and Finale from The Firebird, a dazzling masterpiece that blends mystery, beauty, and triumph.
