ABOUT FANNY
Fanny Montresor Buchanan Allen Penniman was a strong 18th-century woman, and co-authored the oldest known book of botany created in Vermont, now in storage at the Pringle Herbarium at the University of Vermont. She was also a strong mother to eight children, six of which spent at least some of their childhood here on Fanny's Burlington homestead. Fanny was intelligent, creative, resourceful, and persistent. In Fanny's honor, we are hosting a full weekend all about Fanny, plants & flowers, and family fun. Everything this weekend is completely free for Vermont residents!
