Get creative while learning how conservators preserve art. Designed for ages 6-11.
About this Event

How do we preserve Chinese paintings that have creases and tears? In this hands-on workshop, children ages 6–11 will practice repairing artwork using reinforcement strips, a traditional mending technique. Get inspired by touring our Chinese art galleries, make your own art, and apply reinforcement strips so your artwork can safely make the journey home.

This program is brought to you by the museum’s Department of Conservation and Scientific Research. There will be two sessions, each lasting about an hour and a half. Please register for one session only.

When registering, please register for one ticket per person. Based on limited capacity in the gallery and classroom, this will help give us an accurate count.
