Join us for a mindful winter walk in the woods of Nordic Northwest!Hear about Nordic traditions and perspectives on winter, including the concept of friluftsliv – the love of the outdoors. Search to catch sight of tomten and fairy houses in the woods and create your own nature journal using foraged twigs from your walk.
The middle of winter can be a still and quiet time to reflect or a stormy icey scramble for warmth! Whatever the day brings us, we will embrace in true Nordic fashion by going outside to enjoy and observe, then getting cozy inside to share and create! On our winter walk, we will take in the beautiful line art of the all the bare branches and collect twigs and bark to bind our own nature journals. We’ll listen and look for evidence in the woods of the magical Nordic tomten, nisse, and elves, then take time to write, draw, and collage in the warmth of our Great Hall.
All materials and instruction provided, including prompts for writing and collage.
This is a multi-generational workshop! An adult guardian is required for children under the age of 18. Adult guardians do not have to purchase a ticket if they only plan to assist children in the craft. If an adult plan to make their own separate craft, they are required to purchase a ticket.
