Come along to this special family volunteering event and help to plant cammasia flower bulbs in the abbey’s orchard! This free and fun activity is designed for children aged 5+ and their families, with two 1.5-hour sessions to choose from. Our grounds team have been hard at work preparing planting holes - now its's over to you! You'll be placing bulbs in the holes and covering them over with soil. The bulbs will then bloom in the spring, providing a beautiful carpet of flowers in the abbey’s orchard.
This family volunteering activity includes:
🌱 FREE entry to the abbey all day!
🌱 Nature-themed colouring sheets, finger puppets and other crafts to enjoy when you finish planting
🌱 A 10% discount in the Yard Cafe
🌱 Trowels and gloves provided
As a volunteer you will be helping with what has now been over a 10-year project to enhance the flora of the orchard. Join us to plant these wonderful flowers and make a difference to our environment and wildlife!
Places are limited so please make sure to book a space on our website for each child taking part. Parents/guardians do not need to book a space. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
