Join artist-in-residence Jackie Moylan for an engaging and heartfelt Creative Writing Workshop focused on capturing your family’s cherished memories. A family story is a true account of you and your family’s participation in a past event—whether humorous, touching, or unforgettable. Jackie will share her own story about visiting her grandmother and a memorable bike ride incident, setting the stage for your creative exploration.
No writing experience? No problem! With over 40 years of teaching 8th-grade English, Jackie is skilled at guiding writers step by step through the creative process, ensuring you feel confident and supported. Before the workshop, think of a few family memories—childhood moments are often a great source of inspiration. During the class, you’ll transform those memories into stories that can be shared with loved ones for years to come.

Please note that our classes are typically held in the lower level of Arlene's. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements. We want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy and participate in our classes.
