It is important to take time for yourself to slow down and unwind. This can be achieved by spending time in nature, making observations and recording them to connect to the environment. Embark on a memorable family adventure amidst the picturesque beauty of the Wildflower Garden!
Nature Journaling is a focused way to enrich your experience of nature, record your observations and connections to the world around you using words, pictures and numbers. You don’t need to be an amazing artist, the important thing is the connection you have to observing the world and recording what you see, hear, smell, touch and feel. Nature journaling helps you develop skills such as observation, calming the mind, memory and curiosity for the world around you.
During the session you will be provided with a journal to take home and the use of watercolour paints, lead pencils and black felt tip pens. Please feel free to bring your own supplies if you wish.
The Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden is one of Sydney's best kept secrets, set across 123 hectares of unique urban bushland and home to two endangered ecological communities as well as 18 threatened species of flora and fauna. The Wildflower Garden is open to the public all year round and has a range of hikes, step-free walking tracks, picnic areas and heritage venue hire as well as a diverse calendar of environmental education programs.
