Interwoven: Family Fun on the Farm
Special Operations Forces families are invited to join The Station Foundation as we slow down to appreciate the beauty of nature while spending the morning together at Coastal Cattle and Cartwright Family Farms. Unplugging from technology and getting outside refreshes the mind and spirit for adults and children alike. During this fun, refreshing program, families will enjoy a tractor ride and learn about many gentle farm animals including cows, pigs, goats, sheep and chickens. Following a delightful farm tour, families will be invited to pick strawberries and share a picnic lunch together.
Playing outside is essential for children’s physical, emotional and spiritual well being. Sharing and enjoying time outside as a family is a simple and easy way to strengthen your relationship and build connection. Teaching your child how to appreciate nature through playtime outdoors is invaluable. Slowing down to appreciate the sights, sounds, and smells on the farm will enable each participant to be present and practice mindfulness together.
New to Interwoven events with The Station? Welcome! Our outStation Facilitator, Jamie Dockiewicz, will be in contact with you to share our mission and confirm your Special Operations Forces affiliation.
10:00 - 10:15 AM: Arrival and Check In
10:15 - 10:30 AM: Welcome and Program Overview
10:30 - 11:30 AM: Farm Tour
11:30 - 12:15 PM: Strawberry Picking
12:15 - 1:00 PM: Picnic Lunch (optional; participants are welcome to pack a lunch to be enjoyed after the program)<h4>

Event Details:
- Please wear closed toed shoes.
- Please wear clothing that can get dirty.
- Buckets for strawberry picking will be provided.
- We invite you to bring a picnic lunch of your choice if you would like to have lunch after the program.
- Water and popsicles will be provided.
This is a first come first serve event with a maximum capacity of 12 families. We kindly request a cancellation notice no less than 72 hours prior to the event. Thank you for your consideration. If you need to cancel text or call Jamie Dockiewicz at (757) 620-7321.
