Hayley Stokes is an experienced visual artist and runs popular arty events for people of all abilities and ages. At this workshop, Hayley will encourage adults and children to explore the garden in a mindful way – really observing colours, shapes and patterns. Children may also enjoy spotting bugs and butterflies. They will be encouraged to use pencil, charcoal, pens and paint sticks (children may prefer to work directly in colour) to sketch from their surroundings and watercolour or acrylic to explore the colours they see around them. They will be encouraged to design a small canvas from their observations that they will paint to take home. Examples shown are examples of images produced by children in previous classes (varied themes). It will be a relaxed session and participants will be encouraged to take time for a lunch break (bring a picnic!).
