In anticipation of the upcoming MLK holiday, Idaho Family Policy Center is excited to announce that Alveda King will join us for a special IFPC Family Forum Night.
Dr. Alveda King is the niece of Martin Luther King, Jr., a former Georgia state legislator, and a prominent Christian activist for the sanctity of human life.
Having grown up during the civil rights era in Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. King learned early on the importance of Christian civic engagement:
"Even though my uncle’s dream is still alive, we must fight for it daily to ensure that current and future generations can experience the promise of America that MLK spoke about. We must remember and remind every generation, every decade, and on every platform of the resilience of those eternal Christian virtues of faith, hope and love. And as people of faith, we are called to share our joy with others, defend our beliefs in the public square and vote for our Christian values at the ballot box."
She will be joining Blaine Conzatti and Kent DelHousaye to speak at this town hall event about the legacy of MLK and the importance of exercising biblical citizenship here in Idaho.
Tickets for this event are provided to the public for free as a ministry of Idaho Family Policy Center.
