About this Event
In this workshop, explore the journey of self-discovery inspired by Christopher Myers' exhibition, , currently on view at the Gantt. Using alcohol ink to emulate fluid motion, participants will express themselves like water. Layering acrylic paint atop the ink, different facets of identity will be symbolized, followed by words written with paint pens, reflecting the poetic inspiration from Myers' work.
Ultimately, the final artwork will either represent identity or pose the timeless question of "Who am I?". Participants will use a range of materials, including acrylic paint, paint palette, brushes, alcohol ink, canvas, and paint marker pens. Techniques such as dabbing, blending, stirring, or flattening with the paint palette will be utilized to spread paint over the ink.
This workshop will be led by multi-dimensional teaching artist, Deneer Davis.
