Learn the basics of alla prima painting with the whole family.
Alla Prima means "at once." This workshop will explore the basic drawing and color considerations for a direct head painting in a limited oil painting palette. Teaching artist Bryan Wilson will demonstrate a quick alla prima portrait. He will share how to start the preliminary drawing, basic composition, and color considerations for painting people.
Families are welcome to paint alla prima portraits of their loved ones in this beginner-level experience. All supplies are included with ticket purchase. Ages 8 and up.

Bryan M. Wilson, MFA - Teaching Artist
Wilson grew up between New Jersey and Georgia. It was in Georgia, at the age of 16, that he began his artistic career. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Studio Art and a Minor in Graphic Design from Morris Brown College. After graduating college, he became an in-house graphic designer for Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, GA.
After relocating to Charlotte, he began teaching art and obtained teaching credentials at University of North Carolina-Charlotte. Wilson pursued his MFA in Drawing/Painting at the Academy of Art University, where he graduated in 2015. He is now exhibiting throughout the east coast alongside other distinguished artists. He is currently showing work at Foster’s Frame and Art in Huntersville, NC and Coffey and Thompson Gallery in Charlotte, NC.
